She Looks Fine. But She Is Tired. ” Why I Created iMatter — and Why It Was Always for You

✦ ✦ ✦
I want to tell you something I don’t always say out loud.

I grew up as the firstborn of 12 children — from 10 different mothers.

Let that sink in for a moment.

I didn’t grow up with my mother. I grew up with stepmothers. And a father who was present — but the kind of present that still leaves wounds. Deep ones. The kind you don’t have a name for until years later when someone finally helps you look at them.

In our culture, you don’t talk about these things. You just carry them. And you keep going.

So I kept going.

I built things. I worked hard. And then I got married — later than our society said I should. So the whispers started.

“She’s barren.” “Something is wrong with her.”

I am Ndebele. My husband is Shona. So add to that the tribal tension, the cultural expectations, the quiet weight of never quite belonging — not fully — even in your own marriage.

From the outside? I looked fine.

Inside, I was a woman who had never truly been seen. Who had been performing strength since childhood. Who carried mother wounds she had never named and father wounds she had never grieved.

Then I found a mentor who walked me through emotional healing. And for the first time in my life —

I could breathe.

Not the kind of breathing you do to survive. The kind you do when something heavy — something you didn’t even know you were carrying — finally gets put down.

And in that moment, one thought came to me:

How many women across Africa are walking around like I was?

The answer? All of them.

She is in Johannesburg. She is in Harare. She is in Nairobi, Lagos, Accra, Lusaka. She looks fine. She has a job, children who need her, a family she holds together. But inside — she is tired. And she has never, not once, been given a safe space to put it all down.

That is why I created iMatter.

Not as a programme. As a place. A place where the African woman finally gets to say — I am not okay. And be held, not judged.

The iMatter Journey

iMatter is not a single event. It is a whole journey — designed to walk with you from the moment you first say yes to yourself, all the way into a community of women who will hold you as you grow.

Here is how it works:

STEP 1 — THE 7-DAY RESET

Start Here. Come Back to Yourself.

Before anything else, you need to stop.

Not collapse. Not quit. Just stop — long enough to breathe, long enough to hear yourself think, long enough to remember who you are underneath everything you carry.

The iMatter 7-Day Reset is an online journey I designed for the African woman who is running on empty. Over 7 days, we work through:

Releasing what has been draining you silently — the wounds, the patterns, the weight you picked up so long ago you forgot it wasn’t yours to carry.

Rebuilding your energy and your sense of self — not the version of you that performs for everyone else, but the real you.

Finding direction when everything feels stagnant — because a depleted woman and a stuck woman look exactly the same from the outside, but the solution is completely different.

Giving yourself permission — maybe for the very first time — to matter.

“I finally feel like I can breathe.” — iMatter Reset participant

The Reset is where the journey begins. It is accessible, it is online, and it will move something in you.

STEP 2 — IMATTER CIRCLE

You Don’t Have to Walk This Alone.

Healing doesn’t end after seven days. And the truth is — you were never meant to do life alone. None of us were.

iMatter Circle is our community. A private, sacred space where women across Africa come together every single month to be poured into, to grow, and to hold each other.

As a Circle member, you receive:

  • Monthly live healing and teaching sessions with me — where we go deeper into the things that matter most.
  • A private WhatsApp support circle — a sisterhood of women who get it. Who have walked similar roads and won’t ask you to explain yourself.
  • Weekly guidance and guest conversations — with therapists, coaches, and women who have walked the journey and come out the other side.
  • Real conversations about business and life — because healing and building are not separate. When a woman heals, she builds differently.
  • Priority access to every iMatter trip — you hear about it first, and you get in before the doors open to the public.

Because you are strong — but you don’t have to do life alone.

The Circle is R480 for an entire year — less than R40 a month. Less than a takeaway. For a community that will change the quality of your life.

STEP 3 — IMATTER TRIPS

Come Away. Be Poured Into. Go Back Changed.

Three times a year, a group of iMatter women gather somewhere on this continent for a healing-centred getaway.

This is not a conference. It is not a girls’ trip.

It is a space built for the woman who has been giving for so long that she has forgotten what it feels like to receive. Where she arrives carrying years of weight — and leaves lighter. Clearer. More herself than she has been in years.

Each iMatter trip is intimate and intentional. We go deep. We create space for the kind of conversations that don’t happen at dinner tables or in WhatsApp groups. We laugh. We cry. We exhale together.

We have started in South Africa. But iMatter was always meant for the whole continent.

Nairobi. Lagos. Accra. Harare. Lusaka. Kigali.

We are coming.

Because the African woman who needs iMatter is not only in South Africa. She is everywhere. And she deserves a space that sees her — in her language, her culture, her context, her reality.

Three trips a year. Limited spaces. Always sold out. Because she is ready.

This Is for You

If you have read this far, something in you resonated. Something recognised itself in these words.

Maybe it was the tiredness.

Maybe it was the weight of being the strong one.

Maybe it was the mother wounds, or the marriage wounds, or simply the quiet ache of a woman who has been last on her own list for far too long.

Whatever brought you here — I am glad you are here.

iMatter was built for you. Not a perfect version of you. Not a healed version of you. You — right now — exactly as you are.

The only question is: where do you want to start?

Start with the 7-Day Reset. Join the Circle. Come on a trip.

Or simply reach out and tell me where you are. We will figure out the next step together.
